Crazy doesn’t even begin to describe what my life looks like right now. If you had told me just over a week ago that I would be laying on the floor of a church in Thailand this morning I would have laughed and added a slightly sassy, “yeah right, I wish.” But I’m here. And I’m here with a team of 7 awesome ladies who have made the decision to follow a call God placed on their lives to spend 2 months in Asia.

Last Saturday, I also said “yes” to a call and less than 24 hours later I was landing in Georgia. Life hasn’t slowed down much since. Monday morning I had 30 minutes of training before meeting my amazing team; I was covered in prayer by some beautiful people from my own squad. After that, we got on a bus to take us to the airport. Once the majority of the two Southeast Asia teams made it through check in, we found out there had been a problem and 3 ladies didn’t have a reservation on the plane like they should have. I spent a couple hours talking to several people on the phone but we couldn’t make it work. The four of us were put up in a hotel in Atlanta while the rest of our group traveled onto Asia.

At this point, my understanding of the timeline gets a little hazy but I know the next day “the core four” were finally put on a plane to Asia. We flew into Qatar only to find out our plane from Qatar to Malaysia had been cancelled. After talking to a woman behind a desk at the airport we were told we would be the last four given tickets on the next flight out, only an hour later. Praise! We had enough of a layover in Malaysia that our last flight was unaffected and we finally made it into Bangkok only a day later than we were originally supposed to. The core four was reunited with the rest of the SEA group. At 5 am the next day, we said goodbye to our sister team as we got on a bus to take us to Phuket. Not too long into our bus trip, we pulled over and the bus driver motioned for us all to get off the bus. From what we could understand our bus had broken down and they needed to fix it. Our delay turned a 12 hour bus trip into a 17 hour trip, but at last we finally made it to Phuket.

It would have been really easy to get caught up in the craziness of our week long travel day. It would have been really easy to forget God’s goodness in the trials. It would have been easy to meltdown, to think selfishly, to complain. But, wow, these ladies impressed me. They held steadfast and persevered through. They prayed and thanked the Lord.

I don’t think this will be the end of our hardships. Honestly, I’m praying that we don’t have an easy trip. My prayer for this group is that we are challenged to grow in our faith, challenged to step out of our comfort zone, and challenged to rely on God in ways we don’t when we’re at home.

Would you consider partnering with me in this prayer? Praying that whenever we face trials we seek His face; we know his goodness.

Thanks in advance for all your prayers and support! I am hoping to be a little more intentional this time around with my blogging and with sharing where I’m at. I would love to hear from you all too! Please let me know how I can be praying for you 🙂
