I’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of encouragement and support I’ve received to-date in response to my decision to join the World Race! But in all honesty, I’ve also been overwhelmed by the amount of preparation that went into getting this far. In the past 2 weeks since I accepted my spot on the World Race, I’ve filled out forms, taken a personality quiz, written and mailed support letters, researched gear and arranged travel to training! “Drinking from a fire hose” as many have heard me say recently. And that’s exactly how it’s felt. So now, I’m finally sitting at the airport ready to board my plane to Gainesville, GA to begin my training!
I’ve heard stories about the challenges they will throw at us over these next 10 days to try to break us down so we can be built back up stronger than ever and ready for anything we may encounter on the race. I’ve also heard this will be the beginning of the incredible bonding experience we will have with our squad-mates who we’ll be traveling with for this 11 month journey. I’m excited and ready for it all! I will have more to report back soon so stay tuned!! 🙂
