The table has been cleared and the last of the Tupperware containers full of Thanksgiving leftovers have been placed into the fridge. As we all settle onto the couches with our slice of pie and the sports games on TV, I can’t help but think: how thankful I am for this time with my family.
The 27-year tradition of converging on Sanibel Island, Florida for this holiday week is always the highlight of my year and a time where we can all be together to reconnect and relax as a family. It’s a time for laughs, bike rides, alligator sightings, lounging by the pool, walks on the beach, sunsets and family photos. It’s a time to reflect on all the changes and adventures we’ve experienced in our lives since this week the previous year.

This will be the week next year that I return from my 11 month journey to 11 different countries. What an amazing time that will be to see my family again after nearly a year of being apart! I already can’t wait for the fun times we will have and the many stories and updates we will share.
But you know what else I’m thankful for today?? YOU!!
