February brought a significant shift in my life. This past month was spent intentionally slowing down with the Lord and learning to simply rest in His presence.

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

– Ephesians 5:15-17

The Father brought me to this scripture and then said “This is my desire for you, to use this time I’ve given you wisely for my will and purpose. Remember that my view is different from the watching world’s view of wisdom. Meet me in the quiet spaces. Rest with me. Explore with me. Discover my plans for you.”

After a 4 year journey with the World Race, I left Adventures in Missions last month.

The scripture then goes on to say:

“…be filled with the Spirit,

addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,

singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

-Ephesians 5:18-21

My roommate and I prayed into words for the month of February and spent a lot of time reflecting, acknowledging our present circumstances, digging into scripture, worshiping, breaking off lies we’ve believed, declaring truth, and finding hope for our futures.

Though I don’t have it all figured out, I’m learning day by day to take small but courageous steps in faith, trusting in Him and expectant that the Lord will meet me in the midst and reveal more along the way.

Stay tuned for a blog or two describing my decision to leave and this journey to discovering what’s next!
