The race has been the most amazing experience of my
life. I am left changed and hungry for
more of the Living God. Probably the
most disappointing aspect of the Race is the fact I have to say goodbye to
amazing people each month.
So once
again another country is coming to an end.
I caught myself thinking of all the places and people I wanted to visit
again. My heart grew heavy as I realized
I probably will not see all these people again.
Thanks to internet I am able to maintain some of the relationships but
others will have to remain a piece in the fabric of my heart. I almost want to list each person that has
touched my heart but that list would be too long. Fortunately,
I have been blessed each month with the cream of the crop contacts in each country
but it really leaves my heart aching to see them again.
As I
say goodbye to the girls of Child Voice and their children I think on the
blessing it has been to be here. To
learn from teenage girls (although they are more like grown women) how to
praise the Lord despite suffering, loss, hurt and pain. I will forever be changed. Once again my list grows longer of the
people I will miss and will be in my thoughts and prayers.
This is Kevin and I at our fall festival we had for the Girls and kids. We had face painting, musical chairs, bean toss, and bowling. It is great just to see the girls have so much fun even with the little things in life.
I have
come to respect and admire Child Voice International. Their determination to support and encourage
former child soldiers into productive lives is commendable. If you would like to support this organization
