These last few weeks in El Salvador have been an
adventure.  We started off this month
thinking we would be doing some dramas in local parks, visiting schools, and
other various things.  But, we ended up partnering
with a team from California that had evangelism campaigns planned around the
country.  We went to different towns and
would participate in campaigns that lasted 3 days each.  There was worship, testimonies, we preformed
some of our dramas and there was preaching.
At the end of the night there were alter calls and we had a chance to
pray with people.  Many people shared
testimonies later of how they had been healed.
It was an amazing experience.

                The
first night of the campaign I met some very precious girls named Elizabeth and
her friend Kathryn.  As things were
wrapping up I noticed a young girl (Elizabeth) intently staring at me.  I asked how she was and she said she was
good.  I knew though that she had more to
say.  So I asked her what was on her
mind, she then began to cry.  As I inquired
more I found out her 18 year old cousin was at home sick from drinking too
much.  As a nurse how she described him I
knew he was dying.  The next day we had a
chance to visit the family.  Sure enough,
we found this young boy Darwin lying on his bed. It appeared his liver had shut
down as his abdomen was larger than him, his extremities were holding fluid,
and he was jaundiced (yellow). I found out later that he had been drinking
since he was 12. My heart broke for this young man and his family.  Alcoholism has proved to be a huge problem
here in El Salvador and I have seen it doesn’t matter the age.  People are hurting and in desperate need of
freedom from such a devastating disease.

I very much enjoyed the
opportunities this month.  Not only was
it amazing to see the Holy Spirit show up it has been great to see different
parts of the country, meet people all over, and the founder of the campaigns
took us under his wing.  He was so
pleased with us helping out that he treated us to days at the pool, the beach
and markets with handmade crafts.  It for
sure has been an adventure.  In the next
few days we head to Guatemala.  LAST
COUNTRY!
