Those
who know me know I hate Costco/Sam’s Club.
I am not sure why but it is always so overwhelming.  I like getting a deal but in order to get a
good deal at one of these places you have to buy approximately 20 loaves of
bread or 35 cans of soup.  (ok I am
exaggerating) But, I contemplate will I be able to eat 12 croissants in 4
days before they go bad.  Really this form of shopping is not for a
single lady such as myself, so I prefer to just avoid it all together.

                Well I
never thought I would have the opportunity to experience the dreaded bulk
buying store on the World Race but really anything is possible.  So my teammate Jennifer and I go to this
store called “Super Cheap” We walk in to what I quickly find out is probably my
worst nightmare.  Jennifer says “this is
like Costco on crack” To make things worse we can’t even read half the
products.  Such as, we bought baking soda
instead of salt…oops which really didn’t taste that good in pasta.

So, I wander the isles trying to keep my
spirits up despite lack of sleep and the inability to read anything.  The store must have spanned about 4 city
blocks. There were fish swimming ponds where you could pick your fresh fish, isles
I couldn’t even see the end of.  There
were shelves of merchandise that reached the tall ceilings.  We slowly checked things off our list and
although the store seemed as though it was more than I could handle I was
thankful they had just about everything we needed.

                So we
check out after a somewhat traumatic and stressful experience.  We are happy that Super Cheap holds true to
its name and we do save some money.  Our
ride had not arrived yet so we push our cart into a local restaurant area and
push it right up a little ramp into a coffee shop.  Things I would never do in the States becomes
free game at this point my life.  So all
in all this turned out to be a good day and we survived Super Cheap!  Not necessarily recommended unless you are up
for the challenge.
