Jan 26

So, here I am typing another lesson learned on prayer! Sorry these all went up the same day! They have been thought out on different days, and written, just no chance to post them.

God answers prayer!! The service at Noé’s last night was phenomenal, because the Spirit of the Lord fell on that place. We all went into the night feeling more prepared spiritually after our time in prayer the night before, and we just automatically found our sweet spots for each of us. Three of us planted ourselves on the street in different areas to focus on prayer and intercession for the whole two and half hours. Those who have evangelistic giftings settled at the gate of Noé’s home to intercept people walking down the street and invite them to enter. Others went out walking around to invite people to come.

Noé began with worship, even though at 6pm, our starting time, there were no guests yet. As we worshipped, people started coming in, first a trickle and then more and more. The several guys who have accepted Christ into their lives came to the service and even brought their friends. These are young guys who are in gangs, alcoholics and one is marked with a tattoo to indicate that he has killed someone. But they got saved. Noé is beginning the discipleship process with them even now. We are praying for them.

After worship, some of the team put on the ‘Set Me Free’ drama to music we had practiced last week. It is a song by Casting Crowns, and the drama is the story of a girl who is tormented by demons, then rescued by Jesus through his death and resurrection! Then Mallorie, of Team Agapetos preached a message about freedom from the enemy and the bondage of sin. I was outside praying and worshipping, singing songs of freedom and declaring release for the captives. Isaiah 61 is our hearts cry right now –

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor,

He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound…”

People were freed last night from the bondage of the enemy! It was such thrill to see the whole evening come together so beautifully when we were obedient to God’s call to pray.

I was on a real high last night, elated and full of joy – so much so that all I could do was cry in the presence of my Almighty, Loving God, who delights in answering our prayers and filling our hearts with joy!

Tonight and tomorrow morning we are doing an ‘Open Air’ ministry in the Plaza, downtown Palenque. We will be renting big speakers and microphones; Noé is leading worship for a while, and then we will perform ‘Set Me Free’ again, then present the Gospel message, followed by prayer and evangelism.

I will be the tormented girl in the drama tonight and then an intercessor following the performance. I am super, super excited for this, as it has such incredible potential to reach many people. Our teams are meeting for extended prayer about it at about 4pm Central time tonight, and then again at 6pm at the Plaza before the event begins at 7pm. We will be putting it on again tomorrow morning at 11am. Pray for open hearts to hear the Gospel, and for us to have wisdom and discernment to speak into peoples lives with the hope and love of Jesus Christ!

I can’t wait to have more pictures to post up here about this!!
