I have finished packing – just in time!  We are heading out to the Kansas City airport here in just a few minutes.  My family had a nice lunch together with everyone, and I spent the rest of the day finishing my packing.  My pack weighs in at about 34lbs, and my other ‘front’pack is about 10lbs.   That’s my gear for the year!

I regret not having written more on my blog even after I arrived in Des Moines a week ago.  I have been busy with Christmas, and seeing some of my dear friends.  Those whom I wasn’t able to see or talk to – I’m so sorry I missed you!  I love you all, and realize that this holiday is always so busy, that seeing everyone is so difficult.

I love all my friends and family and the goodbyes are bittersweet.  I look forward to the year ahead with great anticipation and excitement, but am so sad to be leaving people behind.  I have had a chance to look back over the last year, and even further beyond to see how God has prepared me for this coming year.

God’s created me with a itchy feet, but a heart to love people deeply.  At times, I find this confusing because I come to love deeply, and then I’m called to leave.  But I believe God has his greater purposes for my life, as well as all those I touch.  It’s hard for me to leave, but I know that His vision is so much bigger than mine and He sees the whole picture, and all the players.  I am choosing to trust that wherever I go, whoever I love, God is using me as a planter, a waterer, or a harvester – and I am honored that he has chosen me as His vessel.

I am really, really tired, so I’m hoping all this made sense!!!  I can’t wait to share this coming journey with all of you!
