We leave in just a few hours to fly to the Philippines, where I will move one more hour ahead in time. Once we arrive, our contact will pick us up, feed us dinner, brief us a bit, then send us out to our respective homes.
We will be split into 3 small groups for these first few days. Josh, Amy and I will be living and serving together, Rusty, Lynette and Leah will be, and then of course, the Molgards will be serving together.
This week sounds like it will be a busy week of doing all the ministry options – teaching English, preaching, teaching preschoolers, running the Sunday morning service, house visits, etc… I am looking forward to the change of pace, and having Josh around is great fun too. It will be a good month.
Please continue to pray for us as we travel to a more dangerous area.
Some have mentioned that the Philippines has felt the least safe of anywhere we have been, though still deemed safe enough. I’m glad to have the guys around. 🙂
Also pray for unity, as we are a new group of people learning to function as a body.
We have plenty of practice from the last 8 months in our own teams, so I have a feeling our learning curve will be much smoother this time around, but continued prayer is great. 🙂
Pray for us to build relationship with the contacts that God has for us, that we would establish the proper set up for the future teams.
Also, just a note: the past 4 or 5 posts have not been written by me – I want to make sure the credit goes where the credit is due. They have been daily devotionals from Oswald Chambers’ My Utmost For His Highest – that have touched my heart and spirit, and wanted to share with you all!
