Hello! My name is Alissa I am from Colorado Springs, Co. I am currently working towards my degree in fire science and on July 1 of this year I got out of the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps gave me the opportunity to live and work all around the world. For almost 5 years I have had the privilege to serve the United States as an 0431, logistics/embarkation specialist, and as an 8156, Marine Security Guard. Living overseas God fostered my passion for those who are living in absolute poverty. Over the past year God has filled me with a burden for refugees and those affected by war. After getting out of the Marines I was unsure what God wanted me to do but a few days later I decided to look at the world race website just to see where the different routes were going. Then I just though maybe ill do this. A few days later after much prayer and thought felt I God leading me towards the Expedition Route. I am looking forward to growing in the Lord through this adventure of a life time!
