Ministry, last week, involved us unloading a van full of food to unloading bags and bags of donated clothes. DCM receives clothes donations from local churches that they have partnered with and food donations from local stores. This is a busy time for donations; as the weather is getting cooler, they need to have warmer clothes to give out so there are a lot of clothes coming in. We had to go through the rooms and bring order to the chaos. We sorted and organized what was in the rooms to make room for all the new donations coming in- trash, keep, or goes to Kathy Von Meding (She has a travel ministry with the gypsy population and is able to use clothes that the Lighthouse does not). There are two main rooms where the clothing donations are kept – men’s and women’s. I spent the week working in the women’s room and we got a lot accomplished. As a team, we made it fun – going through the clothes, trying things on, etc.
