1. This is a beginning of a life-long journey through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery. I expect to develop a broken heart that will propel my hands to act out for God’s kingdom around the globe.

2. I will minister to the poor, oppressed, and hopeless. I will show them God’s love and lives will be changed!

3. This trip will save me from complacency and comfort.

4. I will learn to rely on God more and learn more about listening prayer. I will learn to hear the voice of God. The World Race will help perfect my ear for his voice.

5. I will learn who I am by finding the true person God created me to be. I will learn even more the heart of God. I will learn how to use that and God will show me who I need to be in the kingdom.

6. I will get to meet and serve with 40+ amazing people who will be my teammates. I will truly learn what community is. We will explore the heart of ACTS community and see it come to life through our relationships. I will make new friendships that will last even after the World Race!

7. Although I will make new friends, I will miss my friends that I already have. It will be hard not being able to be there for them in everyday life as well as major life events that could happen. I will miss talking with them and sharing life with them.

8. Not only will I miss my friends, but I will also miss my family. It will be hard not being there for the holidays and all the get-togethers. I will especially miss my niece and it is hard knowing I will miss out on a year of her life. I’m sure those of you going on the trip with me will hear a lot about her!

9. I have been on short-term trips before but have never been gone from home more than a month. I have loved the trips I have been on before and I know that I will love being on the WR! With this being a longer trip, I know that there will also be tough times. God will use this time to stretch me and help me grow in every way: physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

10. I will learn more about God’s people and new cultures, languages, etc.

11. I expect to pursue the dream God has planted in me. I’m sure the trip will develop other dreams and reveal to me how that fits into his kingdom. I will love what I am doing and get to see God’s kingdom come to life through my life. I will better understand what God is doing and learn how to join him in it!

These are some of the things that I expect but it is hard to know what to really expect b/c there are so many unknowns… with that said I expect the unexpected. I expect to see God work in ways I have not seen before and I hope to share that with all of you! I will have some access to the internet to keep in contact with friends and family. I will continue blogging and will hopefully be better at updating it more often! I hope that you will join me on this adventure and that you will be open to what God has for you. I appreciate your support and encouragement!
