Vietnam.
When listing the 11 countries I was going to be traveling to and serving in it was the one I'd always forget.Month 8? I assumed it would be hard. Past halfway so the honeymoon period is DONE and yet still so far from the end of the race.
Cambodia was an interesting month without any set structure or contacts. I was ready for some stability.God knew what I needed. The moment we watched an Orphan Voice video online I knew I was going to LOVE the month and I absolutely did. My heart is for children and families.
And this organization serves them well. Selflessly.
My team and I had an absolute blast all month long. We loved the children at Promise House and the Therapy Center instantly. Our contacts became our family and friends. We enjoyed the beach, mountains, river, and food. We scraped and painted. We played games. We worshipped.
Vietnam is a closed country so ministry instantly became more relational. At first I was concerned that would prevent me from loving or sharing the same way but God still spoke, moved, challenged, used and blessed me.
I miss this place and these people everyday and I'm not going to lie by saying I'm not asking God to send me back one day. 🙂 My team leader and dear friend, Sunny, made this awesome video and captured our whole month in 4 minutes.
Also some of my favorite previous and current teammates still need financial support to be able to finish the race with our squad. Please consider supporting: Christina Garcia, Jon Dundore, Jessica Hurst, Jessica Sun Kim (Sunny), Hannah Wunder, or Brittney Smith. Click on "Meet My Squad" at the top of this page and then click their individual blogs and the support me tab on the left side. Thank you!!
