Oh hey World Race subscribers!  I haven’t blogged ONCE since I’ve been home in 9 months now!  Sorry y’all.  I’m still kickin’.  No, not just kickin’, I am doing fabulously.

Here’s the quick ‘n dirty of my nine months:

*re-entered American culture.  i.e. rediscovered my love of indoor plumbing..cereal…lounging around on a Sunday…those types of things.

*got a job as a massage therapist full time.

*started dating a boy…

*went to a few weddings this summer for my fellow World Race squadmates!

*…got ENGAGED to the boy…!!

Yay!

*And now, amidst planning a December wedding, I am also planning to do a week long mission trip this year.

I got that itch you just can’t seem to scratch again….the itch to TRAVEL THE WORLD and love on some of God’s people. <3

I’m going to Honduras for the first week of November for a medical mission!

Yes, I’m thrilled.  Yes, I can’t wait.  Yes, I had to get a new passport since mine was full from last year!  And yes, it costs money.

Are there any supporters out there who feel called, or who would like to participate by donation for this next journey God has for me?

I really feel funny asking because after God supplied $15,000 for my World Race excursion through you guys, how can I possibly ask for help on another $1,500??  Seems silly…seems like chump change.  But my director of the trip is really pushing that the participants let their community know about this trip because a lot of people don’t have the ability or desire to go on these trips and funding missions is what brings them great joy.  I think a lot of my reservation about asking is my pride.  You’d think a girl who spent an entire year serving would have learned a little something about pride, but I guess that is still a lesson I need to work on.  In my head, I hear people saying “Alison, we just gave you $___, how much more do you want?!”  And my answer is…I really don’t know because God keeps putting these trips in front of me and I trust that he’ll provide every penny!  And I know he opens countless doors, but the scripture speaks that one must KNOCK first if he wants it opened.  So here I am community, knocking on your doors!

If you feel like a monetary donation is something you’d be interested in giving, donating is very simple for this trip.  Write the check to APEX.  And in the memo line, write HONDURAS NOV. 2012.  Then you can send the check to me:

Centerville, OH 45459   (note, my address will be changing Sept. 24th when I move in to a new townhouse…I’ll edit this blog when my new address is officially changed)
Then, I’ll turn them in to my director and next thing you know I’m off to assist some local Dr.s and nurses as they set up a 5 day clinic in a village desperate for medical help.  I’ll most likely help in the Triage, doing vitals and sending them to our Providers, or I’ll be on the prayer team laying hands on people as they stand in line.

Feel free to ask any and all questions about my upcoming trip/marriage/townhouse….Just another year in the life 🙂
