This month has been really refreshing, mostly because we have so many comforts and I love the ministry.  We’re living in a city at a YWAM base where we have a girl room (major bonus) with bunk beds and air conditioning – pretty amazing since I haven’t had a bed or AC until this month.

We are with one other team, and we have several types of ministry. Here’s what my week looks like:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:

I volunteer at a coffee shop where I mostly make paninis and wash dishes. And occasionally I get to use the espresso machine when I’m making a drink for myself. I absolutely love pouring into this ministry.  I love coffee shops so much and this has fueled my desire to open one someday. The caffe is a safe place where people can come and rest, relax, enjoy a great drink and meal, and hopefully experience the love of the Father through the volunteers and atmosphere there.

My team members who don’t volunteer at the coffee shop go to a center that provides meals and a place to rest for the homeless in the community.

Tuesday and Thursday:

We volunteer at a hospital raising money for children’s heart surgeries for families that can’t afford them. Those of us who play instruments play them, and we invite people to donate for the cause.

Tuesday and Friday nights:

On Tuesday and Friday nights, we go to a prayer room that is led by the same people as the coffee shop. It’s a place for people to come and encounter the Lord. We worship and pray and spend time in the Word.  It’s also all in English and they play familiar songs, which allows us to participate easily. It’s a really safe and free place for us to spend time with the Lord, so it has been a huge blessing this month also.

Wednesday night:

On Wednesday night, we do street evangelism. We meet together and pray, and then hit the streets to meet whoever God leads us to meet and encourage and love.

So that’s a little bit of what my month looks like.  This month is refreshing and relaxing, and it’s getting me fired up for what’s next.  The Lord is teaching me more about His perfect love, and I’m excited to see what He has in store for us next month.

My prayer requests are:

  • To reach a deeper intimacy with the Father and to better understand His love
  • To see myself the way the Lord sees me
  • To be able to see others the way the Lord sees them
  • To depend on Him for my physical health and strength
  • For unity for our new team and for our squad

Big news that I almost forgot – my team changed at the end of last month!  (See the first picture in this post)  I am still on a team with Chip and Ga’Nene, and we have 3 new members. I do miss my old teammates, but it’s really exciting to be building relationships with my new ones!  My new team is: Me, Chip Carnes, Ga’Nene Edwards, Amanda Kerr, Kaitlyn Wolff, and Tyler Vessels.  (click at the top right of the page if you want to check out their blogs)

Thank you for reading and supporting me and for your prayers!

Love,

Alison
