Here's what I just wrote to my cousin Rebekah in an email. It's a little update from what I've learned during month 7 in Uganda:
This is our last full day in the town of Masaka, Uganda and we will be going to Kenya in just a few days.
I have loved this month living with a wonderful pastor's family. We've seen a lot of hurt, but I'm also learning more about God's goodness.
Seeing people who have so little but have so much joy is so encouraging and inspiring. Fullness of life really does come from the Lord, not from material things. And even when people don't have much and are suffering, I am learning to trust in God's goodness all the time. And that he put us here for a reason, to do something about injustice, to help those who are hurting.
Not to put a burden on ourselves that it's our responsibility to do everything for everyone (like I used to do), but to follow the Spirit's lead and listen to what he puts on our hearts to do. If we each do our little part, we really will change things and bring Heaven to earth. 🙂

We are heading to Kampala, Uganda tomorrow and then we're off to Nairobi, Kenya for a couple of days until we head to the Maasai Mara area for ministry. This area is a famous safari destination because of all of it's Lion King type animals, so hopefully we'll get the perk of some fun wildlife while we're doing ministry!
Thank you for all of your prayers, support, and love!
