Hello again!

I’ve taken a lot of time trying to think about how to post this blog in order to welcome you all into the announcement of the next big step in my life. After a lot of prayer and seeking guidance from others in my decision to apply for this program, I’m happy to announce that I got accepted to Generation 42 Christian Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain, and will be leaving in September of this year.

What is it?

G42 has a close relationship with Adventures in Missions but they are not directly affiliated with one another. This leadership academy is designed to be, “a 9 month training program designed to mobilize leaders to plant missional communities that establish the Kingdom of God around the world.  Our graduates, and their communities, pioneer and serve at ministries and businesses that reverse oppression, and reveal God’s love wherever they go.” The first 3 months of the program I will be in the classroom learning the “core teachings” of Christ and how to be unstoppable in pursuit of Him and His Kingdom. The middle 3 months will consist of me going on outreach to apply all that I have learned in the classroom and learn from living it. This practicum portion of school will be in somewhere other than Spain, and will give me the opportunity to grow in the knowledge I have learned so far. The final 3 months will be spent back in Spain, solidifying all that I’ve learned from being back on the mission field, and in the classroom. It will be the seal on starting this new way of life I have learned over the months.

How long is it, and how is the school set up?

The semester I applied for runs from September – May. I will be living in community housing with the other students, as we go on this journey together. Every week we will have a new instructor who will impart their knowledge on us, and we then have an opportunity to know them better by hosting a dinner for them at our community houses. Our class material focuses on what it looks like to planting missional communities or coming alongside to partner with those that are already established.

How is it paid for?

The program cost is $9,800 for all 9 months. All room and board is covered in this cost, along with the flights to and from my practicum phase in the middle 3 months of the program. I will be fundraising for this cost, as well as working to save money for the 6 months that I am living in Colorado for.

1st Deadline September 10th:

$3,800

2nd Deadline November 30th:

$6,800 total

3rd Deadline February 28th:

$9,800 total

How can I help?

I prayed for a long time while I was still on the race in 2017 about whether or not to do G42 in fall of 2018. It is hard being a missionary at a time when the world is constantly telling me I need to dig my feet in and begin a career. I believe the Lord has called me into this time of missions while I can really go after Him with all my heart. Being a full time missionary is the direction he has called my life (for this season) in and I need prayer more than anything. If you want to be apart of my support team (in prayer and/or financially) and receive monthly update emails about prayer requests the interns and I have, how to best intercede for us, what we’re learning, please comment with your email address below. To donate to my account for G42, click on this link http://generation42.org/donations-interns , scroll and find my name on the intern list, then choose if you want to make a monthly donation, or a one time donation through paypal.

If you want to continue to follow the journey the Lord is taking me on I can gladly add you to the list as well. If you have more questions or want to know more about the school you can visit http://generation42.org

Thank you so much for all your faithful support over this past year, and I greatly appreciate you all for what the Lord is doing in your heart as well as my own.

Love,

Alisha
