We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…

  • Seeking the Lord more and more everyday
  • Spending more time in HIS word
  • For God to mold me into the woman he has designed me to be
  • Understanding the purpose God has set out before me
  • Meet new people, See new places
  • Miss my family and friends like CRAZY
  • Make life long friends with my team members-my new family! 🙂
  • See the miracles of God first hand
  • Face many fears and countless trials
  • Come face to face with the enemy
  • Have TONS of fun and WILD adventures!
  • Accomplish many of my goals
  • Try crazy cuisine
  • Do things that I would not normally do (note to team members: Please make me do things that I would not normally do! hahahaha)
  • Cry out or laugh out loud-maybe both simultaneously
  • Be exhausted at times and overly hyper in others
  • Have uncertainties that God will answer in time
  • Be challenged (not only in faith but in other areas as well)
  • Grow stronger and richer in my walk with the Lord
  • Not wanting to go back to the life I was living before the trip
  • Be changed dramatically
  • See people receive everlasting life through our loving Savior
  • Make a difference in people’s lives through Christ Jesus!

The truth: I may expect these things to happen over the next year, but I know that God may have an entirely different plan. It is up to me to keep the faith and not worry about what is to come. Through our Lord and Savior anything is possible, so that means anything could happen within my 11 month journey. All I can hope for is that God will move in me like never before and help the people of the world to experience a personal relationship with Jesus! Many critics will say that what I am about to do is either illogical or that it may cause more harm than good; but I believe differently. An amazing woman once said:

“People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of    selfish ulterior motives; be kind anyway.If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
succeed anyway.If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight. build anyway.If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
be happy anyway.The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough; give the best you’ve got anyway.You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God;
it was never between you and them anyway.” -Mother Teresa
