Today we went to see our friend Anh. She is a 73 year old lady who is a believer here in the village. She has been ill for about a year. She cannot move, she cannot stand and she cannot eat. She lays on top of a surface covered by a little mat with a mosquito net hanging over her to protect her from the bugs.

On our first visit we learned that she lived with one of her daughters and her grandson and that she had been laying there for a year or so. Her little frail legs lay at a 45 degree angle with stiff knees and dry skin.

My heart went out to her and immediately I wanted to help her. I started asking a million questions, as I normally do when I go into “fix it mode” and then realized that I was not back home, where I could refer her to anyone that could do anything for her.

So I went to the ONLY ONE that could help…. JESUS!

She is a believer and knows that when she is taken up, that God will be there to give her soul eternal rest. So she told us that she has been praying every day that either God would heal her or take her home.

We prayed with her and for her and God gave me a little song to sing for her. Our visit was short but God has placed a heart and a love for Anh in our hearts. We feel her agony and pain as we gaze into her eyes, but we know the hope of the glory that is in store for her.

My prayer is that she will be reunited with her savior soon so that she may gaze upon His loving eyes and she can hear the sweet Words of His love for her. There she will experience no more pain and no more sorrow and she will dance upon His throne with a renewed body.

My joy in this is that one day I can see my new friend in a perfected state in heaven. Until I meet her again there she has already found a place in my heart.
