Dear Family and Friends,

A number of years ago, I had the opportunity of living overseas when my Dad, serving in the United States Navy, was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. It was there that I witnessed what it is truly like to live in a nation that is in desperate need for Christ. Although I was young when I lived in Okinawa, the experience stayed with me and a desire grew over the years for me to serve and witness to people in other countries about Christ.

After graduating from Liberty University with a degree in Psychology about a year and a half ago, I felt I had no clear direction on what my career path would be in my life. During college, I had completed an internship working in a child development center, and later served as a “nanny” for my sister, helping take care of her four young children. I also worked for a Hobby Lobby during a store set for the opening of a brand new store. While working with children, as well as a Christian based organization, I felt a desire and a calling from God to pursue something “big” in the service of His Kingdom. Having my time in Japan close to my heart, I had a desire to return overseas and serve God by witnessing to those who have never heard about the person of Christ. It was then that I remembered hearing about a program called the World Race from the organization Adventures In Missions (AIM).

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. In reaching the World Race’s mission of launching my generation out into the world to serve God’s Kingdom and reaching out to people who are in need of hearing about Christ, my team will: serve in partnerships with churches and ministries in local communities preaching the Gospel, planting churches, working within orphanages, and also ministering to women and children who have been trapped in prostitution from human trafficking. It is a tremendous opportunity to bring healing and the hope of God’s love to different tribes and nations. Please pray for me and my team as we embark on this challenging and exciting mission.

Although I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, one of my greatest challenges while preparing to embark on this mission will be raising financial support. Like other missions organizations, those in the World Race are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in January 2015, I will need to raise $15,500 with an additional $743 for insurance costs (totaling at $16,243). This money will cover my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me financially as the Lord leads? Thank-you for your consideration of my request for support.

Yours in Christ,

Alicia Wrigley
