There is a three year old boy in the nursery here at the orphanage that
still cannot walk. He was malnourished as a baby, so it took a long time
for his muscles to develop. He now has the muscle control and balance
to walk, but he doesn’t trust himself to handle it on his own. He will
only walk if someone grabs his hand and leads him on his journey.
That little boy. He inspires me. He inspires me to reach out, grab
God’s hand, and invite Him to lead me on my journey. I only need to
walk if I am holding His hand, I have no business trusting only in
myself and my judgment or I will fall.
On my life’s journey, God has walked me through challenges, growth,
suffering, discovery and opportunity. I know that no matter where my
life goes from here, as long as I am holding His hand, those things
will be present in my life.
God has walked with me this far on the World Race. I have learned
valuable lessons about myself, God, and the world. I do not know how
long God wants my World Race experience to be. By the end of September,
if I do not have $8,000 in my account, I will be headed back to the
states. I need to raise $2,600 to meet my deadline.
God will hold my hand no matter where I am. I know I will take on
challenges, grow, endure suffering, make firsthand discoveries and
seize opportunities no matter where I am in the world. I will be at
peace with whatever happens.
Today, I am giving all of this to God. I am leaving it up to Him to
decide where I will serve and love others. If He moves you to give, I
encourage you to. If He moves you to pray, I encourage you to. But if
HE doesn’t, please don’t. This is my confirmation from God about what
direction my life should take from here. Again, I will be at peace with
whatever happens from here.
Today, I grab God’s hand so He can guide me where He wants me to go, where ever that may be.
