Just wanted to let everyone know that we made it safe to Phuket, Thailand this morning. After a 2 hour flight to Atlanta, 5 hour flight to LAX, night in a hotel, 6 hours in LAX, 16 hour flight to Hong Kong, 2 hour layover, 3 hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand, 3 hour ride on an open-air truck, hung out at bus stop because we missed first bus due to protests, 11 hour bus ride….we have arrived in Phuket, Thailand…pronouced POO-KET
We will spend from now until Thursday at SHE ministry here in Phuket during what is called World Race Launch. The days spent here will be focused on more indepth training, learning about cultures, and about our ministry location for the next month. There are 7 teams on my squad, 2 of which are staying here with SHE, 4 are going to North East Thailand and our team will be headed up to North West Thailand to an area called Chaing Mai. I’m not exactly sure what we will be doing there but I’m about to go into a meeting to learn more so I will post another blog tonight to share. At this point we’ve been told that it will take a 24 hour bus ride to get there, we will be without ammenities such as running or drinking water, electricity or internet. Our squad leaders are very excited about the ministry that are team has been blessed to be part of and said its for sure worth 24 more hours sitting on a bus.
Here are a few pictures that I have taken since being in Thailand
playing music at the Bangkok airport
one of the open-air trucks that we rode for 3 hours to catch our bus

Thanks for all the prayers for safe travels! I will update again once I find out more about the ministry in Chiang Mai
Much love,
Alicia
