So, I am pretty sure we’ve all heard the “God sent me two million dollars just in the nick of time!” stories (not that there’s anything wrong with that, and hey, they are pretty sweet!), but how often do we take the time to celebrate the “small” things that God provides for us?

The truth is… I don’t.  Ever.  I don’t often stop and celebrate the money my mom lends me when I need it or when a friend buys me lunch or when the ladies at the gas station pull a penny out of the little tray thing so that I don’t have to pay the cent when I put $30.01 in my gas tank.  My mom is supposed to lend me money and I buy friends lunch so they should buy mine and the pennies… are a penny!  Who really cares, right?  (This is all sarcastic if you haven’t caught on.)  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway… today, I am celebrating God in the small things!  I’d like to share a nifty story with everyone…

The other day, I was driving to work at 5:40 or so Wednesday morning.  I was trying to worship God wholeheartedly… for me, this is challenging at 5-something in the morning.  ๐Ÿ™‚

As I am driving along, I realize that I forgot my lunch!  My first reaction is “Oh no!  What am I going to do?  Starve?!  I can’t work on an empty stomach!  I won’t have time to pick up food!” and other anxious thoughts.  I knew I had to work from 6-2:30, be at my other job from 3-6, then go straight to church from there… when was I ever going to get food?!

Then, I made a conscious decision.  “I’m not going to freak out… it is what it is.  I don’t have time to go back and get my lunch, and there are plenty of worse things that could happen (given that a good friend was in the ER the night before, food seemed like a small issue!).”

So, I carried on and said, “God, you’re a provider.  You’ll either provide me with lunch or strength to get through it.”

Long story short… He did!  God provided me with a lunch, and it was plenty!  And then, God went over the top and provided me with dinner, too!  Heck, when I got home around 10:30, I wasn’t even hungry!  I know it’s a little thing, but my God provides!  And my God doesn’t only provide when we have an emergency or need a lot of money… my God provides for all of my needs, big or small!  Thank you, Lord!

Speaking of provision (and now that I’ve celebrated the small), for those of you who are wondering exactly where I am at with my fundraising, I currently have $3,865.50 in my support account with The World Race.  That leaves me with $3434.50 left to raise.  If you’d like to support me financially, you can by clicking here.

Have an amazing day, much love.  ๐Ÿ™‚
