"Humility does not mean you think less of yourself;
it means you think of yourself less."

– Ken Blanchard

About a week ago, I was surfing around Hillsong United's iheart website.  There was an article called "Birthday Cake or Humble Pie?" (here) and I really liked the concept: on your birthday, rather than (or before) having a par-tay, take some time to serve.

I liked it so much that I decided to do it.

Yesterday, I went in to The Hope Chest, which you may remember from Day 2 of the middle school mission trip (read about it here).  I spent a couple of hours sorting clothes and doing some other in-store tasks.  I was very glad to stop in there one more time before taking off.

I also got to spend some great time with my grandparents in the morning and with my daddy and that side of the family later.  I decided I actually kind of like lasagna.  🙂

Overall, today was a great twenty-first birthday, and what a great reminder to be grateful and to give a little into my own community!  "For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." – Matthew 20:28  Thank you, Lord, for a gentle reminder about being humble and for an opportunity to serve You and be more like Jesus!

Four days!  Thanks for reading.  Love you.  🙂
