TAKE OFF!
(Of course, my take off may not be quite this epic…)
So here we are in December… can you believe that 2010 is almost over? Yikes!
As for me, this season has been crazy with passports and shots and plane tickets and packing and research and Christmas and Power of Attorneys and visas and insurance and phone calls… and… and… and… in fact, this has pretty much been my face for the past few days…
…seriously. 😉
Anyway, two really neat things have been going on lately…
1. For the first time in my life, I feel as though the crazy amounts of distractions and trials going on in my life aren't steering me away from God; rather, they are giving me more of a reason and a desire to seek Him. To see this change in my life… well, that's God-sized!
2. I am going to read through the whole Old Testament, which is something I've never tackled before. I am a few chapters into Exodus and I have to tell you that it is the coolest thing to see how everything fits together. When you're little, you hear stories of Jacob working for Rachel seven years but getting Leah and working another seven years for Rachel, or the story of Abraham having to kill his son, and since you're eight years old, your mind goes, "Oh, okay." But to read why God asked Abraham do such a thing or that Jacob's being deceived was a result of his own deception, well… you know the saying, "There are two sides to every story"? I am finally getting the whole story and I love it!
