Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you blessed and doing well. Those of you who know me, know that I have had a passion for ministry in Africa for many years now. The Lord has called me to love and build relationships with people an entire continent away. After my last trip to South Africa in 2012, I decided to stay stateside and finish my degree at the University of Tennessee in Cultural Anthropology. Since that time, God has continued to stir in me a love for people around the world and has lead me to participate in a new adventure called The World Race.

The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries around the world. It is a unique opportunity for young adults to travel with only a pack on their back and the love of Christ in their heart with the goal of spreading the Gospel to many tribes and nations. Through The World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with ministries in local communities to plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of Christ. I will be on route 5 traveling to South Africa, Botswana, Madagascar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

This experience will not only stretch me physically and emotionally, but spiritually as well. I would like to ask if you would join me as I prepare and begin my race around the world. I am in need of support both prayerfully and financially. Like most missions organizations, The World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in January 2016, I need to raise $16,500. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, I humbly ask you to consider giving either a monthly donation or a one-time gift as well as devoting time of prayer for my team and I.

Adventures In Missions is a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3) and is a member of the ECFA. (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability). Due to IRS and ECFA regulations governing the administration of tax deductible donations given in support of a particular trip/program, support contributions given on behalf of an individual will be used to offset the costs of the trip/program you are involved in. All contributions are non-refundable regardless of the participant’s success in completing the program.

I will be blogging about my journey leading up to the race as well as throughout the 11 months in the field. You can join me at aliwoods.worldrace.org to stay up-to-date and read about my ministry. You can also find out more information about Adventures In Missions and The World Race at worldrace.org.

Words simply cannot express how grateful I am to be accepted to participate in such a phenomenal adventure and for the support of wonderful people like YOU! Thank you so much!

Because of Him,
