I can’t believe that month one on the World Race is already over. There is so much that has happened this month that I haven’t had the chance to share on my blog yet.  Right now we are at debrief in Nelspruit, South Africa. We are staying at Old Vic’s Backpackers Inn. We got to go on a safari through Kruger National Park, the other day. It is so relaxing being at this hostel with the whole squad. It has been a great time to fill up with the lord and worship Him for everything that has happened this past month and everything that is yet to come.

This month has been an absolute blast. On off days/free time we got to play with penguins, go to the beach, play on massive rock boulders, go shark cage diving, and visit Cape Point. I even got to meet up with a friend from college, on a different World Race squad, that was also in South Africa. We climbed Table Mountain together, and got to spend a whole Saturday with each other.

Apart from the wonderful, tourist, things we were able to do this month, God really showed up. I felt Him when we walked and prayed over the halls of the school. He was there when I had opportunities to talk to students about Jesus. He blessed me with the ability to be Jesus to the elementary kids that needed a massive hug when I arrived at school. He set up a situation where I was able to speak to a woman on a train about Jesus, when she didn’t believe.

Our team was split up into different host homes, but we were able to get to know all the host families. They were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke into my life in ways they may never realize. I fell in love with these people. I know that I am going to fall in love with people all over the world this year, but I know that when I left Cape Town that I left family.

I have grown this month. God is speaking to me. He gives me pictures and visions. I am learning to know when He is speaking to me, and to act when He says move. God is challenging me to listen. I am beginning to step out of my comfort zone and take risks for His purpose.

This next month, we are staying at an orphanage called El Shaddai, with our whole squad. I am so excited to be able to bring Jesus to these children. This ministry at El Shaddai is one of the best ministries that the World Race has to offer. We are headed off to Swaziland in two days, and I can’t wait to see how God moves in Month 2!
