We have been in South Africa for about two weeks now, and I absolutely love it. Every weekday we work at Simon’s Town school with kids from grade 1 to grade 12. Our ministry contact, Bradley, is the school’s P.E. coach. We are doing a number of different things to help out around the school, but mainly we help Bradley run P.E. classes, hang out with the kids on their breaks and share our stories. We have been given so much favor in the school to talk about whatever we want. It is amazing to have the ability to walk into a classroom or finish off a P.E. classing giving our testimonies and talking to these kids about Jesus. It is sad to think that in America our teachers can’t even talk about religion. Praise Jesus that we are able to use this school as a ministry to spread the gospel.

Some of our team members have kids asking them to do one on one sessions, while others of us have had the ability to pray over kids and encourage them in their Christian walk. Yesterday, our entire day was filled with several P.E. classes. We spent an hour with five different grades of kids, and at the end of the hour we would finish off the class by giving our testimonies. It was incredible to watch as the kids would stop and listen to us speak to them about our own high school experiences and how we came to find Jesus in the mix of our brokenness.

God has big plans for Simon’s Town school. We can see it as we walk through the hallways and talk to the administrators. God has wonderful people strategically placed in influential positions all over the school. We have been blessed to be able to be a part of planting seeds in this school and in the kid’s hearts.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
