A vision of a heart in chains. The words there is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain. A lock.

These were all things God had put in our minds and in our hearts for a woman who had closed off her heart after the father of her 3 year old son left them. But God wasn’t about to let it stay that way. We had come as vessels for Him to start breaking those binding chains.

This woman was hesitant to receive our prayers. Her guard was up, but her tears were pouring out. The pain and the weight of a broken heart are deep and heavy; I honestly don’t blame her for being slow to let us, and God, in. It’s a place you don’t want people to see and it’s a hurt you don’t believe can be fixed.

She was broken and we were weary, but we surrounded her with loving and unceasing prayer.

The Lord has been developing a special gift in me this year- the gift of feeling other people’s emotions and the emotions God has for people. It has typically been what I would call a burden of sorrow because a lot of what I have felt so far has been hurt, hopelessness, and fear. But I cherish days like today and eagerly wait for more of what I felt in this moment.

Have you ever felt the love of God? We all know that God loves us, but have you ever felt the love that He has for you? Let me paint a picture.

It hits all at once. The heavy burden of sorrow is lifted off your heart. The Lord surrounds you with strong arms that have a gentle touch. He wants to embrace you. His love for you is overflowing. It is so strong that it cannot be contained inside an earthly body. You can’t stand still. The excitement He feels makes you want to run around in circles. The smile that He has for you is so great. His joy for you is evident in His laughter. He weeps on behalf of your pain. Your pain is His pain. God takes pride in you. He puts His joy in you. He is excited to love you.

This is the love He has for you; this is the love he gave me the privilege of sharing with this woman. She was pouring out her tears and my prayer was for the Lord to use those for healing. I longed for God to share with her His heart. And then it hit. This was the love that He wanted her to know. There was an unexplainable excitement overflowing from my spirit. I wanted to run and jump, for the excitement was too much to keep restricted in one space. The joy of the Lord was exuding; I couldn’t contain it, and I had to share it. You can’t keep this kind of love to yourself.

We’re not supposed to keep it to ourselves. The Lord has called us to share His love, which should be seen in the way we love others. The beauty of God’s love is that He is excited to share it with you. He is excited about you. We are all His creation in which He takes pride in. I don’t have to be the only one that feels the direct love of God; it is open to us all. I don’t know about you, but I want to feel that all the time. I can’t question whether or not God loves me because of what I felt for that woman. It is so encouraging to think that He feels the same way about me, and He feel the same way about all His children. I have always been told that there is no greater love than this. Now I understand.
