Africa is incredible. Ever since I stepped off the plane and into the heat- I’ve felt at home. Minus all the bugs of course. But other than the 50,000 mosquitos and the 54 bug bites I have on my feet alone, I really enjoy it here.

Here’s what’s happened so far:

-helped lead a March for Jesus through the streets of Livingstone
-been bitten my more mosquitoes than I can count
-danced in the streets proclaiming Christ is king
-was deathly ill day 3
-stayed up from 9pm-5am in an all night prayer intercession
-preached to 35+ people at 3 am
-saw a shooting star
-a centipede crawled across my foot
-received an African name- nChimunya
-camped in the rain (mini hurricane?) at a youth camp
-told the story of Jesus’s birth to a stranger
-helped feed 50-75 orphans
-gave a devotion on Ephesians 5:1
-there’s 73 languages here in Zambia
-Zambians drive on the left side of the road
-one of the pastors is going to fry me caterpillars to eat soon
-bought a chtenge, an African wrap around skirt
-my nose is currently peeling from the multiple sunburns
-held a baby goat
-prayed for hiccups to go away and they do
-bungee jumped at Victoria Falls
– had more than my share of mangos from the tree out back
-washed my clothes in the bathtub
-worked out with mangos as my weights
-helped create traditional African food: nshema, beans and greens (YUM)

There’s been a million more memories and experiences, some great and some not so great. But whatever the story, I’m so excited and honored to be in Zambia, to be doing God’s work. My God is so powerful, I’m thankful to work alongside him and be in His country. Wifi is virtually non-existent, so the updates will be slow to come. But all is well! Please keep us in your prayers as next week we’re headed “into the bush” or so says my host. Love you all! Merry Christmas!
