Dear friends and family,

I am writing this letter to share with you the next opportunity that God has opened up for me. I was recently accepted to go on an 11 month mission trip called the World Race, which is one of the many missionary programs offered by Adventures in Missions. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, and ultimately bring hope of God’s love to the people. I will be leaving in September 2014 on the Asia route to do ministry in India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia, and the Philippines. While in each of these countries, my team will be partnering with local churches and ministries to serve in areas of need.

I am so excited and thankful for this amazing opportunity! I want to live for something more than the mundane. I want to live a life in which my words and actions reflect the love of Jesus. I want to care for the least of these by clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, providing the homeless with shelter, and giving hope to the destitute. On the World Race I will get the opportunity to live this out! For 11 months all my possessions will be in a backpack. I’ll be preaching the gospel, praying for the sick, and spending time with the needy. I can’t wait to share the love and grace of Jesus with the people who are hurting for it the most.

So here’s where you come in. There are two goals I need to accomplish as I prepare for this trip and I need your help to do it. The first goal is to create a prayer support team. Prayer is vital to this trip and to the fulfillment of the calling God has placed on me. In many of Paul’s letters to the various churches, he often asked for prayer for his missionary work. I need your prayers as well. If you’d like to partner with me prayerfully, please send me an email ([email protected]) and I will send you prayer update letters throughout my time preparing for the World Race and while working in the field on the World Race.

The second goal of preparation in fundraising. The World Race, like most other missionary organizations, requires their participants to fundraise their financial support. In order for me to be fully funded by September 2014, I need to raise $ $16,255. This money will be used to cover all my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip – which includes the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad. That amount of money is overwhelming, but I know that God is faithful to provide. I have seen God perform miracles in the area of finances and am confident that if God is asking you to give, He will provide for all of your needs as well. While you may not be traveling to a distant country, you are still doing something significant by enabling me to live out this calling. By supporting this mission, you are a part of God’s Kingdom work! So, would you please prayerfully consider pledging to donate a one-time gift or monthly? I know that God wants to bless me through this trip and he wants to bless you too.

I am praying that God would place on your heart the best way for you to support me. I am so excited to see how God will work and be glorified in this process.
