Hello my name is Alexandria Wead, I chose to participate in the WorldRace Gap year because I knew I wanted something more. I wanted something more than the average college experience, I wanted more than a skin deep relationship with God, and I wanted more then the comfortable safe space experience. I grew up on a dude ranch in Wyoming, but spent most of my time engrossed in a book imagining a life of constant travel and constant adventure. This summary is supposed to be about who I am. However, I have no great stories to tell, I was never spectacular at school, and I have always been average in sports. Therefore, this blog post is just a small speech of all the things that I love in the world, so keep reading if you want to here more about me.

I am fond of the color red because it’s bright and vivid and reminds me of warmth and summer. However I must admit I am not fond of the shade of red my cheeks get and the amount of comments I get on it…I promise I just blush easy I am not sunburnt. My closest friend is my cousin who is even more free spirited than me and is absolutely fearless in being her true self, whether you like it or not. I love eggs and will eat them anywhere, anytime, on a bus on a plane, and even on a train! I know it takes exactly 1 min and 20 seconds for my egg burritos to warm up in the microwave and I can eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This brings me to my next point; I am terrible at cooking, but wonderful at dancing in the kitchen. I love to go dancing and have had the privilege of having one of the best dance partners who has been patient with me as he shows me how to swing dance. I am one of the rare few people who enjoy mornings better and find it to be the best time for me to spend time with God. However more importantly, I am passionate about people. My favorite times are spent sitting and talking with people about their life stories and what they are passionate about.

Because I so enjoy having genuine conversations with people, I look forward to what the WorldRace has to offer me. From getting out of my comfort zone to getting to have real conversations with people about God, the WorldRace is just the beginning to seeing an amazing world and drawing closer to an amazing God.
