These last couple weeks I’ve been reminded of the power of prayer in my own spiritual life. I’ve been praying for financial provision, for God to ease my mind and help me to feel at peace about this crazy time in my life, and for God to help me feel joyful & excited in the business. And after last week, when I was completely overwhelmed and pretty much cried about everything, I’ve been constantly praying to God throughout my day for these things.
When I begin to worry about money or fundraising; “God you’re the God of provision, you love me and you will be the one who makes the desires of my heart a reality. Help me to give this burden to you in moments like these.” And He has made it SO much easier for me to give it to him and everytime I try to walk back over and pick it up, he reminds me that it’s too heavy for me to carry.
When I begin to feel overwhelmed with jobs, projects or simply trying to make time for all the things I want to accomplish in a day; “God bring me peace within my schedule, help me to rest when I am able & work with a joyful heart. God you have blessed me more than I can say, and you are too good for me to not be joyful & grateful.”
We have to remember that we aren’t in control AT ALL. There is a reason we get stressed easily and it’s because we aren’t supposed to be living a life of self reliance. Do the work that God has called you to do, not what you tell yourself you should do. Thank Him for it and then rest like He commands us to. If you can’t, if you just can’t seem to say no or rest, I really encourage you to just start praying. When you’re driving, or in the shower, or maybe just walking into work, take those moments to praise God for who He is, tell him how you’re feeling (good or bad) and ask Him to help if you need it. Because He’s with you all the time, walking beside you like a friend. That’s why prayer is such a powerful thing when we not only say it but feel the connection to our Father when we say it. God wants us to pray that way, not with empty words but in relationship and unity with Him and His plan.
