Lets talk about insecurities, and boy do I have a LOT. Insecurities have a special way of making us feel like we’re so much smaller and somehow not as worthy as everyone else around us. As I’ve started this journey and have began preparing for the World Race, I feel like there is always going to be someone more equipped to do this than I am. I look at these amazing missionaries I know, and see how put together they are, how strong in the faith they are, and how confident they are. It makes me constantly question myself and the talents & traits God gave me.
So how do we fix this? This is a question I’ve been asking myself for a few weeks now. How can I get back to living in freedom, knowing who I am in Christ? And it starts at just that; Knowing who I am in JESUS. I’ve noticed when I start to get insecure its because I’m starting to trust myself & my plan more than I trust God. So, I’ve been spending my quite times reading about Jesus’ character & the kind of missionary He was. Jesus loved people unconditionally, He didn’t compare himself to his brothers, He knew who He was because He listened to who His father told him He was. And thats what we have to do: Listen & Live It. God doesn’t reveal things to us so we can ignore them, He tells us who we are, reveals His plan & His character to us so we can grow and love Him more. He makes it so simple for us, but we like to complicate it. Love God, take His guidance, His identity & share that wisdom and freedom with people who don’t have it. We don’t have to be perfect, but we don’t have to live bound up with insecurities & confusion either. Be who God tells you to be, and that is free.
“It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God- that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
