This week we have been helping build a house for some beneficiaries of pan de Vida. We had to take a 30 minute bus ride to the house and when we got there. All we saw were ginormous piles of rocks, sand, bags of cement and more. I have to admit I was pretty concerned considering none of us have ever built a house before. As soon as we got off the bus this man named Christian this super energetic guy runs up and immediately puts us to work. Shoveling sand and small rocks into bags. Carrying the bags down a steep incline dumping the bags out and repeating the process for 4 hours. The second day we moved bricks. Lots and lots of bricks plus the sand and the rocks. The third day we moved more bricks, rocks, and sand. Over the course of the days we moved 500 bricks, 100 bags of cement and an endless amount of rocks and bags of sand. To say the least it was a busy week. Ya girl is tired, super sore but also so energized. To be able to serve someone without any gain is a different feeling. It’s freeing. To know you aren’t doing it to get anything in return. Just a hug and thank you was more than enough for me. I’m so gladGod put me in the position to be able to bless them, but they definitely blessed me in more ways than they’ll ever know.
