What is my story?

How did I get to this point, committing to the world race?

I had a lot of changes happening in my personal life, and I began looking at summer resort jobs to get a different perspective and to gt away from my normal life for a short while.

The whole time that I was looking at these job listings I kept thinking, oh man it would be so great to go to Alaska or Big Bend National Park for the summer, and all sorts of beautiful places in the US. But I kept hearing one question, over and over and over.

“What would be the point?” And I kept answering, I don’t know…

Then one day I happened upon an ad for The World Race, probably on Facebook. So I clicked it, and started doing research and looking into what The World Race and Adventures in Missions was all about. Once I did that I stopped hearing “What would be the point?” and I knew that God was pointing me in this direction, in the direction of missions. So I applied, I mean the worst they could do was tell me no right.

Once I completed the application the next step was the application fee, which I couldn’t seem to come up with, it wasn’t much, just $40. But it was $40 extra dollars that I didn’t have.

then one day I got a phone call from an admissions rep from Adventures in Missions, and she got the application fee waived, and I just knew that God wanted me to pursue this course of action, so I took the next step in the process.

And I just kept taking it once step at a time until I got that phone call “You have been accepted for the world race.”

And I was speechless, literally!

Now I am beyond excited to be joining the Route 1 squad for the January 2019 World Race!
