Africa will always hold a truly special place in my heart. Not only that but it has grown me so much. I have grown in maturity, wisdom, and faith. Especially the last one. South Africa has shown me that you don’t need a lot to believe God is real and that he is working in your life. One day me and a small group where walking in one of the squatter camps called Lion Park. We come across this woman doing laundry and we ask her if we can help. She stands up looks at us and says no. But without missing a beat she says but tell me about Jesus. Honestly I was a little surprised we hadn’t even brought up the gospel yet the name Jesus had not been spoken aloud yet. After about 2 seconds of shock we where like yeah we would love to talk about Jesus. And not even a second later a another lady came by and yelled at the other woman what are you all talking about. Now forgive me for I can not spell or pronounce the names of these two women. So after she asked what we was going on the first woman says we are going to talk about Jesus. And than if God hadn’t shown up already she goes ohh I want to talk about Jesus too. So with in twenty seconds God had provided two people ready and willing to hear the gospel. We all walk back into the shade find some seats and start with a classic question with people who are so open to listening. What do you know? And God surprises us yet again and first woman says I know absolutely nothing I’ve never been to church I’ve only heard the name Jesus and I want to know more. The second woman said I’ve been to church and I know a little but I want to know more. So two people who know nothing or very little just randomly show up and what to be taught the gospel that’s crazy. They where so receptive and where so happy just to hear us talk about Jesus and what he’s done either in his life out life or what he could do in there’s. Eventually the second women’s mother called her and she had to leave to help her. But before she went we got to pray with her and help to encourage her to read her bible more and get reconnected in church. So after she left we continued to minister to the woman who know nothing of Jesus but was so willing to learn. We where able to give her a gospel of John in Zulu and a daily devotional we had with us. Than we asked the question. Would you like to receive Jesus and the Holy Spirit? She looked at us and said yes I would. We prayed with her and when we where done and she excepted Jesus into her heart she started to cry. She was just so filled with joy and love she held her heart and said I feel something I feel so much joy. After there was many hugs more praying and some encouraging words. It was truly an amazing experience and God definitely showed up in so many ways that day.
