So I am on the bus ride back to our base while I’m writing this, and we just spent the last few days sleeping in tents, doing kids ministry, and leading church in a community called Tsuiri.

It’s a small community on an island that we took a canoe across a river to get to. We then rode piled in the back of pickup trucks with our gear to the church we were staying at. We set up tents, had diner, and learned of all we were going to do.

The next day we built walls around the bathroom, where there was only tarps before, and stained the church pews. After we finished that we went to do some door to door ministry. During this time I met a lady named Juri. Life for her has been really hard over the past couple months and she really just needed someone to talk to about it. We got to pray for her and when we were done she said that for the first time in a while she could feel the joy of the lord. Later on we wrote and dropped off a note for her giving her encouragement about all that is going on.

Saturday we led a kids ministry and a church service. Abigail and I were in charge of the children and I also got to help with worship.

During our time with the kids we sang, danced, prepared a skit, did origami, and talked about Jesus our main theme during this time was about Daniel and the lions den. In the afternoon service we led worship and Rachel preached.

On Sunday we held the morning service and Kenzi preached. After lunch we all went down to a nearby river and the women had their own women’s ministry opportunity. While the guys swam and hung out. (There was also a dope bridge here)

To wrap up this section one thing I’ve been learning is that ministry is everywhere and all the time. Tsuiri showed that a lot of things ministry wise are easier than they looked and a lot more enjoyable than I previously thought. Previous to coming on the race I would have laughed if you told me I was going to lead a kids service. I absolutely would not have believed I would enjoy doing it and want to go back to do it again.

So thats where we were and now I can say where we are going.

We know our next country now… and its the Dominican Republic!!!!

We get to keep practicing our Spanish. We dont quite know what ministry we will be working with yet but I am very excited to get there and see what God has for us.

Prayer request:

The squad had been sick with a couple things this past week. Its not covid but prayer for good health for those sick would be appreciated. I have maintained my health so far.
