If you’ve ever wondered what a typical day on the world race looks like:

– wake up
– youth kids arrive to church (your home) for beach day
-start walking to the beach (30 minute walk)
-stumble upon one of THREE CrossFit gyms in all of Serbia on a tiny back road
-arrive at the beach
-get in ice river water because one of the kids – Jelena – convinces you to
-Jelena orders your lunch for you because #english
-chat about Korean pop because (again) Jelena is incredibly passionate about it
-come back to church (home) / eat / have team time
-plan next youth event
-go back to the CrossFit gym to work out
-stumble upon an Italian restaurant owned by a man that once again speaks ZERO English
-order food using google translate
-buy 1/2 gallon of chocolate banana ice cream and share it with the teammate you just went to Crossfit with to end the day
-get back to your room and find a letter from one of the youth girls on your bed that is leaving the city before you’re leaving the city

Today I was reminded that the Lord cares about what I care about (Crossfit) and that google translate is incredibly vital for the World Race. I learned that praying with someone just a few years younger than you can encourage them enough to talk to their parents about doing a 6 month long missions program (instead of going to school for graphic design almost for free) and that sometimes thirteen year old girls want to hang out with just you because you have videos of Twenty One Pilots concerts. Who knew that story about Tyler Joseph stepping on my finger would lead into a possible ministry opportunity?
