I’ve started to write this blog about five times and I just do not know where to start. Training camp is a one of a kind experience that uncovers so many things about you that you never knew. Strengths and weaknesses seem to multiply in this crazy pressure cooker environment. You get to know people really quick when there’s ten of you, all your daypacks, and all your hiking packs sleeping in a tent. You really develop trust when eight of you eat a giant plate of chicken curry with your unwashed (ok we did use hand sanitizer but it’s just not the same) hands. There is something so special about the way the training staff speaks over and challenges you. It stretches you in every single aspect.

The biggest most incredible theme that seemed to follow me the whole week and a half was that I am more than capable. I am more than capable of being a World Racer. I am more than capable of living out of a back pack. I am more than capable of challenging my teammates. I am more than capable of taking the stresses and discomfort of living abroad for a whole year and turning that into a reflection of the love Jesus has showed me. I learned that I am vital and important and needed to make my team what it will be.

Also, this is my team! We’ll bonded over team scenarios, sleeping scenarios, dance parties, long sessions, and all the insanity that comes with training camp. The ten days of training camp felt like ten years, but these people have been the most incredible family already. Serbia, here we come!
