On the world race we have these people called squad leaders. Their job is to disciple, challenge, pray for, and plan for our squad of 40 humans. They are previous world racers that have returned to this life of constant travel and serving.
One of our squad leaders is Davante Jones. Davante is one of three squad leaders for my squad. Our squad leaders are different that any other squad leaders because they are staying all 11 months. Every other squad in the history of the world race has only had alumni squad leaders for the first 5 months of the race, then they raise up squad leaders from within the squad.
Davante was home in Atlanta, Georgia for only 4 weeks before returning back on the field for what he thought was 5 months. Then he committed to the whole 11 during month 2.
Davante has lived with my team month 1 in Serbia, month 3 in Greece (working with refugees), and month 8 in South Africa.
He is currently still fundraising and my team was thinking of ways that we could support him so he can stay on the field. We decided to do an adopt-a-box competition for him. Whoever fills up their box first, or raises the most money in 1 week gets to make a dare for the whole team. I little friendly fundraising competition.
How it works:
