I’m just a small town girl from Idaho, bracing myself for the next puddle jump in my life – traveling to 11 countries in 11 months to share God’s love with others in tangible ways around the world.
Some tidbits about myself…
- I have two middle names.
- Receiving snail mail makes my day.
- Some activities I enjoy: reading, playing the piano, riding horses, playing softball, swimming, arts/craft projects, as well as many other activities.
- Sometimes I crave the combination of banana creamies and flamin’ hot cheetos.
- I’m not a fan of “favorite” questions – God gave us too many options in life to pick just one color, book, song, food, etc…
- Lion King was the first movie that I saw in the theater, as well as the first movie that I remember ever making me cry.
- Two passages in the Bible that I love to read over and over again – Psalm 139 and Job 38-42.
So, there’s a few glimpses into the personality and past times of me, Alexis Staeb.
Where I’m at in life currently…
I graduated from a private liberal arts Christian college in Michigan in 2012. I have a B.A. in Social Services and am a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) as well as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). Although I have not yet settled into my career, I desire to spend my life making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families: target population, target location, and target issues of focus yet to be decided by God. 🙂
The Christian faith has been a part of my life and my identity since I was born, but it wasn’t until I went away to college that I really started to pursue and nurture a personal relationship with God and really seek Him in every aspect of my daily life.
Tattooed on the back of my neck is the Greek word agape – which translates into unconditional/sacrificial love, or God’s love. Agape is the word for love used in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” Love is a verb, and I want to act on it, and in it, every day of my life. We love because God first loved us, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to go on the World Race to share the love of Christ around the world so that others may know Him and be saved.
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
