A new continent. Goodbye Central America, hello Asia.

A new team. Farewell Awakening, hello Halas.

A new season. Ciao role of team leader, hello teammate and friend.

A new relationship. With God.

A new love story. Just Jesus and me. <3

Right now, my life is brimming with newness… And it is hard to let go, but at the same time it feels so rich and vibrant as I walk out the process of release and gain new growth.

It was hard to leave Latin America behind, a culture I grew to feel comfortable in and appreciated, and embrace a very unfamiliar continent and culture – Asia.

It was hard to leave Team Awakening and welcome a new team, Team Halas.

It was hard to step out of the role of being a team leader, and stepping into an unfamiliar, undefined role on my WR team.

It was hard to let go of my relationship with a man I care deeply about, and instead walk into a love story with God.

It’s hard to let go of what’s familiar and comfortable, and walk out into the unknown and uncomfortable. Risky business. It takes faith and courage, boldness… It may not be easy, but I am welcoming the new season that God is bringing me into, and I am already seeing the fruit that it bares, good delicious physical, mental/emotional, and most importantly, spiritual fruit.

I want to take a moment to introduce my new team, Halas…

A little background info on our team name..

The Greek word for salt is Halas…hálassalt; (figuratively) God preserving and seasoning a believer as they grow, i.e. in loving the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, strength and in all their relationships (cf. Mk 12:30,31).

Salt and Light (Matthew 5:13-16)

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Our team is salted with the fire of the Holy Spirit. Our witness around the world, as ‘salt shakers’ will make others thirsty for the Living Water, Jesus Christ. Just like sea salt, we will bring healing (physically and spiritually) with the power and authority of the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us. We are world changers. We are Team Halas, shining the light of Jesus in love, to the nations.

***I grew so much in the first four months with Team Awakening. Leading that team was a blessing and honor and it grew me in many ways, immensely. I am so thankful for that opportunity to have lived and loved in community with Awakening. Continue to keep those individuals in your prayers – Ramon, DeAnna, Hillary, Jan Carlo, and Kaila. DeAnna and Ray were placed on a new team together, and Ray was raised up into a team leadership role. Hillary was placed on an all girls team. Jan Carlo, Kaila, and myself were placed on a new team together. I am excited to to see where God takes each one of us in this new season.

Team Halas Introductions:

Amanda (Team Leader), Jan Carl, Kaila, Zach, Kyle, Kristen, and myself. Please keep us in your prayers as we undergo various transitions in this new season. I have been so blessed by this team already – once again, God reminded me of his divine hand at work when these seven individuals were placed on a team together. We are fitted well, encouraging, edifying, supporting, building each other up, and furthering the Kingdom together. I thank God for each and every one of them. I am blessed to have them in my life as brothers/sisters, and friends.

Check out their blogs. Read our stories. Remember us in your prayers.
