So, what do you do when the Devil is hankering around like a hungry hyena anxious to rip you to shreds?? You rise up and wage war, with the strength of God and His guardian angels surrounding you.

When Jesus was out in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights, starving and weak, Satan came to tempt him. And Jesus battled and rebuked the devil with the word of God. “Victory is mine declares the Lord.” The battle is won by God, you can’t do it on your own. YOU NEED JESUS.

Here are some biblical gems to aid you in your mental warfare against the dark one.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” – Ephesians 6:10-17

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. ” James 4-7-8a

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” 1 Peter 5:8-10

Satan suffocates you with his lies through things, circumstances, and most of all people. We live in a fallen world. People are not going to love you perfectly; they won’t always recognize or acknowledge your true worth. You will have people who will treat you like garbage. You will have people tell you that you aren’t smart, beautiful, good enough, and a myriad of other things. You will have people who will not love you. We live in a broken destitute world, and the fact of the matter is that people will fail you.

Thank your lucky (or rather blessed) stars that GOD LOVES YOU with PERFECT UNCONDITIONAL EVERLASTING LOVE. HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS, He stays the same through the ages.

When you hear the echos of lies in your mind and heart about who you are and your worth…. shut them up with the words of God’s truth and His love for you. He will confirm your identity in Christ.

…. After I wrote out the lies of Satan that I have believed in my life, and crossed them out, I filled the next two pages of my journal with WHO GOD SAYS I AM and MY WORTH, defined by Him alone.

I encourage you to do the same. Words have power. Write them out. Put them somewhere you can will see them daily. Speak life over yourself. Satan brings death, but the words of God bring life.

**These are two pages out of my journal in which I proclaimed the colorful and beautiful truth of who God says I am and my worth.

“I AM WHO I AM, BECAUSE I AM LIVES IN ME.”

Below are two songs that have spoken to me very strongly throughout this process. I pray that they will speak to you as well and that you will wash away the lies and bathe in the living waters of our Lord and Savior. If you want to be, you can and will be set free.
