Our team has been walking the Camino for 4 days now, totaling a little over 50 miles! Go team! Although it hasn’t been long, I learned a few things pretty quickly.

1. Chaco’s, YES. Socko’s, NO!

A lot of people are very surprised to see that I am walking in sandals but there are honestly so many pro’s to wearing chaco’s. Just know if you plan on wearing them, you should also pack shoes for colder climates… I didn’t do this.

2. ‎Just because the shell points left… That does NOT mean go left!

3. ‎If you can hold out for a donativo, don’t waste money on breakfast/lunch. I spent about 7 euros on some sausage, two bananas and trail mix…. 20 minutes down the road I could have had a hot ham sandwich, coffee and a muffin for a small donation!

4. ‎This is Jackie… Jackie is taking a brief nap… Don’t be like Jackie. It feels great to stop and take pressure off your feet but when you get back up to walk again the pain seems so much more severe. Just keep walking!

5. ‎Worship! You are walking in God’s creation, with fellow sons and daughters, surrounded by his presence… Enjoy it. Slow down. The destination is important but the journey is what makes it worth it.
