political discussions make me uncomfortable. hard to answer questions also make me uncomfortable, and i’m sure (or atleast, i am hoping) that i’m not the only one that feels uncomfortable when i am faced with a difficult question or topic. truly beloved children of God, we are not called to be comfortable. awkward situations though, i believe do help strengthen one’s character – and they are typically funny, too!
we are equal. no, society may not treat us as such, but i have some wonderful news!!! it does not matter what society or anyone says about you, Jesus is all that matters… let me say it again and i pray that you truly comprehend these words: Jesus is all that matters. the world’s opinion of you, the lies, labels, horrifying words, and standards the devil has tried to use against you… they do not matter. only Christ Jesus our King, Who is seated at the right hand of our Almighty God matters.
“the grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of our Lord stands forever.” -Isaiah 40:8
the ground is level at the foot of the cross. Jesus Christ shed his blood for all – that includes (but is definitely not limited to) every lesbian, gay, transgender, feminist, anti-feminist, muslim, murderer, planned-parenthood supporter or non-supporter, atheist, catholic, buddhist, christian, black, white, yellow, or even blue human that has had, does, or ever will have breath on this earth. Jesus does not see any of us or our sins differently, so why should we treat each other as though we are?
i did not really want to write about anything that could even be closely compared to political things, but i really felt the Holy Spirit urging me to let His people know that we, as followers of Christ, are called to be uncomfortable. we are to be the example for others!! showing love to all, no matter what they look like. reaching out to the lost, broken, and confused. we are called to be set apart. like the elephant in the room, our love for Jesus, should be so apparent that it is just different- in a good way.
for His glory, alex.
