i cannot show my appreciation enough! y’all’s support means the world to me and all i can say is thank you. 🙂 we arrived in phnom penh, cambodia with a total of 25 hours in a plane and an enormous amount of airport junk food (some good and some not so good). this evening we walked around the chaotic streets with a variety of tuk tuks and an insane amount of mopeds!! imagine college avenue during the fall festival however, this version is filled with genuine people who don’t know what we’re trying to say but they do understand a smile. the air is filled with the aroma of VERY fresh fish (i’ll let you imagine that without me describing gruesome details), woven baskets of various produce such as eggs, bell peppers (green and red), celery, cucumbers, onions, and raw meat. surprisingly with no bugs anywhere!!! wow i know! after eating some version of a meatball sub we walked back to our hostel, lucky one, and on the way there we played hacky sack with the cutest kids on the street!! tonight as i lay down to go to sleep with the sounds of horns coming from outside i am praising the Lord for getting us here safely and for such a wonderful community back at home who loves me so well. thank y’all for the prayers, kind words, and generous hearts :)) also if you have suggestions for books to get on my kindle i would love to hear them!! we have a six hour bus ride to the small town we will be serving in so, I’m super excited to start reading new books!!
love, alex
