Life in Ethiopia is so simple.

No wifi. No social media. Barely any technology. Just ourselves, the outdoors, vast skies, open fields, and the Presence of the Lord coming with the wind.

Every day starts the same:

Wake up.

Bundle up in the warmest clothes you own.

Drink hot coffee (when we have electricity).

Go for a long & chilly walk down the driveway to pray.

Jesus time in the living room with 40 of my best friends.

Toast & orange jelly for breakfast (MY FAVE).

Wonder Church Worship.

Love on kiddos at the orphanage.

Dance around the kitchen while making lunch.

Zion team time.

Espanol lessons.

Long walks down the bumpy road with friends.

Play soccer with the kiddos.

Zion team dinner (made by the BEST world race chefs around!).

Chill time.

Sleep.

Wake up.

Repeat.

So often it seems like life with Jesus has to be complicated. But being here—at this place—with these people—makes me realize how truly simple the Gospel is:

Jesus loves us so we go & love others.

The simple Gospel.

I pray that I crave these simplistic moments for the rest of my life. Because it’s in the simple—it’s in the silence—that I hear Him most.

I could get used to this life.

The simple life.
