Bangalore, India

We spent the month tutoring nearly 30 Hindu children at a Christian-based after school program. The woman who ran the program taught the kids how to worship the One true God and how to pray. This little nugget’s name is Deekshita. She was one of my favorite students!

Thoen, Thailand

PA & PJ are two of the greatest humans I have ever met in my life. They were our hosts in Thailand and they showed us by their lives how to live out in surrender and dependence on the Lord every single day. Their joy for living radiates through all they do, and I can’t wait to visit them again!

Hoi An, Vietnam

This woman sold lanterns for people to release into the lake as a sign of surrender.

Ethiopia

We lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere with 26 orphans in Ethiopia for one month. This is Senna. One of the cutest, most lovable little girls I’ve ever met! When we first arrived and were unloading from our vans, Senna immediately ran up to me and jumped in my arms and gave me a sloppy kiss on the cheek. I think about her often and hope to go back and visit one day!

This is Sintu. One of the oldest girls that lived at the orphanage. I spent hours on the cold, concrete floor doing puzzles and playing card games with sweet Sintu. She is so mature and a protector of the children at the orphanage. I miss Sintu often and hope to see her again in the future.

Every morning we would sit on the freezing concrete floor and do puzzles and Bible stories! Today’s lesson was on the 7 days of creation.

Our sweet neighbors who stood daily at our fence waiting for us to come and play with them!

Every evening we would play soccer with the kids at the orphanage for hours and hours until the sun went down. I miss these slow, peaceful days.

One Saturday afternoon we had a field day for all of the kids at the orphanage! It was one of the most fun days I’ve experienced on the Race. Joy was written all over the kids faces!

Church in Ethiopia.

Kigali, Rwanda

This is David. Our host and faithful leader in his community. He has started a Christian school in the village he lives in and is daily witnessing to others. This photo was taken on a Monday afternoon during a prayer and fasting session with his neighbors. Each Monday, around 60 people fast and pray for hours every afternoon. If you think this photo is powerful, you should have seen the rest of the room praising the Lord!

Here are a few photos from the students at Kingdom Gate School in Rwanda!

I dare you not to smile.

Apollo, Bolivia

This is Gloria. Our sweet Bolivian grandmother. We spent many evenings at Gloria’s home—our safe haven—playing Uno, making pizza, talking about Jesus, and watching movies. Gloria and her daughter Sarita became our dear friends and I miss them so much!
